Your role in a nutshell
As Director Fraud Strategy & Operations , you are the strategic and operational right hand of the Head of the department. You provide high level advise, lead major initiatives and step in wherever needed – up to fully replacing the Head of the department when absent. While you will not have a direct team, this is a director-level role with significant influence, combining strategic leadership with operational execution.
Your responsibilities
- Strategic Advisory: You advise the Head of Fraud Management & Investigation on strategic and operational matters
- Project Leadership: You lead major, often cross-functional fraud and AML projects, from concept to execution
- Day to Day Operation: You assist in the department’s operational management
- Departmental Representation: You replace the Head of the department when absent, with full decision-making authority, and represent the department internally and externally in a professional manner
- Stakeholder Management: You represent the department in internal and external forums
- Strategy Execution: Translate the bank’s and department’s strategy into actionable initiatives.
Your profile
- Strategic Mindset: You are a strong strategic thinker who can switch quickly between a wide range of topics and priorities
- Trusted Partner: loyal, discreet and aligned with the Head of Department’s Vision
- Expertise & Experience: You have a thorough knowledge of fraud and AML regulation and practice. A background in law or criminology is an asset
- Languages: You are fluent in Dutch, French and English
- Sector knowledge: Experience in a banking environment is an asset
- Management experience, ideally within financial crime/risk, with exposure to senior management or board-level reporting
- You are up to speed with AI concepts and can put them into context for fraud and AML
