About the job

  • The Data Analyst Trainee position is part of RISK Market and Financial Institutions (RISK MFI) and is dedicated to the development and industrialisation of solutions for RISK MFI MI Capital and Resources
  • The RISK MFI MI Capital and Resources team ensures that the BNPP Group’s regulatory and internal capital for market, counterparty, and settlement risk is calculated, explained, and reported correctly – internally to senior management, business and finance, and externally to regulators. The team also guarantees that Basel 2.5, Basel III and the forthcoming Basel IV/FRTB rules are applied consistently across all legal entities, locations and business lines
  • You will join the Capital and Resources team to industrialise the Python tools that analysts use for riskmetric calculations and analysis. This internship is an excellent opportunity to sharpen your coding skills while learning the fundamentals of market risk, counterparty risk and regulatory reporting

Your Main Activities Are

  • Analyse, reengineer and implement processes in Python to harmonise workflows, increase efficiency and reduce operational risk
  • Enhance risk insight by turning data into clear visualisations and dashboards
  • Prepare tools for production: write clean, documented code, add simple unit tests and follow bestpractice guidelines so the scripts can later be moved into a fullscale production environment
  • Build risk knowledge – learn the fundamentals of market and counterparty risk metrics and how they feed into the Group’s RWA calculations

Profile and Skills to Success

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering / Finance / Mathematics / Economics / Computer Science or related
  • Advanced level of English, both written and oral
  • Knowledge in Python (basic concepts – dictionaries, lists; packages – NumPy, pandas) and able to write readable, welldocumented scripts
  • Attention to detail / rigor
  • Ability to collaborate / teamwork
  • Analytical ability
