The position at a glance

 

Change & Solutions is the team within BNP Americas in charge of facilitating the Transformation of the BNPP Platform. Strongly connected to our internal clients, we strive in providing comprehensive support to their transformative journey, from the initial consultation to the final execution. 

 

The Analytics Lab is the center of excellence in AI/Machine Learning within Change & Solutions serving the Americas region. The team is located both in Jersey City and Montreal, working closely with our internal clients to provide innovative and tailor-made AI solutions to improve our client knowledge, operations and reduce risks.

 

The Lab is also proudly part of Analytics Consulting, a global team of international experts that builds AI solutions for CIB. Beyond the presence in Americas, you will have the chance to collaborate and participate in projects with people from Paris, Lisbon, London, and Warsaw.

Your role is to manage a center of expertise in AI (Dev, Data Science…) contributing to the global project portfolio.

 

 

In detail

 

Leadership and Management

 Lead and manage a team of AI engineers, data scientists, and developers. Recruit, mentor, and develop talent in AI, ML, and data science.

 Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.

 Support the management of Americas AI budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources. Identify and leverage tax incentives schemes (e.g., Research Tax Credit) 

 

Project Management & Technology oversight

▪ Manage AI projects from concept to deployment, ensuring timely delivery, quality, and budget adherence. Identify and mitigate risks associated with AI projects. 

 Oversee the development and deployment of AI platforms and coordinate proper usage of state-of-the-art languages and frameworks.

Strategy & Stakeholders management

 Identify local business opportunities and prioritize AI projects to drive business value.

 Contribute to the development of the AI Strategy and ensure its execution, in alignment with the Group and CIB overall goals and objectives and communicate plans and results to local leadership. 

 Collaborate with business leaders to identify and define AI opportunities and develop use cases.

▪ Act as key enablers to educate, train and promote a data culture across Canada, evangelizing on AI capabilities and limitations, and supporting BL and Functions in embracing Group and CIB AI strategy

 

Innovation and R&D

 Supporting business lines industrialization plans by contributing to the identification new opportunities for ML applications with local teams.

 Stay up to date with AI trends, breakthroughs, and emerging technologies improve the performances of applications (current & past). Collaborate with academia, research institutions, and AI vendors to advance AI capabilities.

 Takes full responsibility for personal actions and demonstrates courage in facing problems and conflicts

 Perceived as a person of high moral character; upholds corporate values and displays high ethical standards



Work conditions: This position provides for standard working conditions in an office and a normal work schedule from Monday to Friday. This position requires little travel.


The strengths and skills that will help you succeed

 

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in Data Science, Development, Data Analytics with active leadership experience managing technical teams
  • Experience in and / or significant exposure to the financial services industry
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, database manipulation (SQL), statistical modeling, data analysis techniques and machine learning implementation.
  • Experience in developing and working on real-world machine learning projects.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Very strong work ethic and ability to deal with confidential information.

 

Nice-to-have Qualifications

  • Experience in managing project in Agile
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GIT, Jenkins, …) and MLOps (MLFlow).
  • Experience with containerization techniques (Docker & Kubernetes).
  • Given the vast majority of our clients, both internal and external, are based outside of Quebec and Canada, specific language requirements may apply. Knowledge of the English is required.
