About Business line/Function:

Global Markets IT is the complete gamut of IT solutions that facilitate and enable the Global Markets business of BNP Paribas. Within Global Markets IT, Regulatory IT – Conduct, Control and Surveillance team is the domain, which provides services to Compliance/Anti-fraud functions within BNP Paribas CIB.  The objectives of the Abnormal Trading Patterns application (ATP) are to identify abnormal operations and abnormal behavior about trader’s profile in Global Market and ALM-T areas.

Position Purpose

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst (Banking) will act as the bridge between business stakeholders and technology teams to define, analyse, and deliver high‑impact banking solutions. You will work on projects spanning banking, trading,  compliance, and digital channels, translating complex business requirements into clear, actionable specifications that drive value, enhance customer experience, and ensure regulatory adherence.

 

Mission expectations 

Business request follow-up, challenge business needs when necessary, write functional specifications so that IT team can build clean and relevant solutions, be involved in the test phases.

Some projects may imply a part of “Project management” as they require a strong governance.

Responsibilities

  • Requirements Gathering & Analysis
    • Facilitate workshops  and focus groups with product owners, operations, risk, compliance, and external partners.
    • Elicit, document, and prioritize functional and non‑functional requirements using use cases, user stories, and process models.
    • Conduct gap analysis between current state (“as‑is”) and target state (“to‑be”) processes.
  • Solution Design & Specification
    • Create detailed Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), Functional Specification Documents (FSDs), and wireframes/mock‑ups for digital banking channels.
    • Collaborate with solution architects, data engineers, and UI/UX designers to validate feasibility and alignment with enterprise architecture standards.
  • Stakeholder Management
    • Serve as the primary liaison between business units, compliance officers, IT, and vendors.
    • Communicate project status, risks, and decisions clearly to senior leadership and board-level committees.
  • Testing & Quality Assurance
    • Develop test strategies, test plans, and acceptance criteria.
    • Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT), capture feedback, and ensure defects are resolved before production rollout.
  • Regulatory & Compliance Alignment
    • Embed regulatory requirements (e.g., AML, KYC, GDPR, PSD2, Basel III) into solution designs and documentation.
    • Support audit activities and prepare compliance evidence for internal and external reviewers.
  • Process Improvement & Analytics
    • Identify opportunities for automation, process re‑engineering, and data‑driven insights.
    • Leverage analytics tools to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) post‑implementation.
  • Project Governance
    • Contribute to project charters, road‑maps, and risk registers.
    • Ensure deliverables meet quality standards and are delivered on time and within budget.

·         Skilling up resources and knowledge transfer.

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

·         Working experience in Financial Markets & Trading Platforms (FI & Equity products), Trade Life Cycle and familiarity with underlying data.

·         Understanding of Front Office/Middle Office/ Back office functions.

·         Sufficient knowledge in SQL to retrieve and analyze data.

·         Strong analytical and investigative skills - Understand and efficiently analyze information/requirements from multiple sources.

·         Experience in writing BRDs and FSDs

·         Good Communication

·         Team Player

·         Capacity to “solve puzzles” is more important than pure academic knowledge

·         Autonomy

·         OOPs       framework knowledge would be a plus
