Job Title: Inputter / Analyst (Associate)
Department: Wealth Management – Operations (Equity Option Derivatives)
About Business Line/Function
The Wealth Management (WM) – Derivatives Operations team is responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle management of Equity Derivatives. This includes processing complex trade types such as OTC Equity, Bonds, Index, Listed, and Exotic Options, as well as Swaps. The function is critical in ensuring trade accuracy, regulatory compliance, and seamless settlement processes to support the bank’s trading activities and client requirements.
Position Purpose
The Inputter / Analyst is responsible for the precise entry, matching, and validation of derivative trade data. The role focuses on maintaining the accuracy of trade lifecycle events, ensuring that all transactions are correctly reflected in bank and client accounts. The Analyst provides essential support to the operational control framework by verifying confirmations, managing master databases, and assisting in the resolution of reconciliation breaks to mitigate operational risk.
Responsibilities
Direct Responsibilities
- Perform the accurate and timely processing of OTC Equity, Bond, Index, Listed, and Exotic Options, as well as Swap trades, ensuring seamless continuity even during public holidays.
- Match, sort, and verify trade confirmations against daily trader blotters and confirmations received from Relationship Managers (RM) or Management Assistants (MA).
- Ensure all trades are updated promptly and accurately within both bank and client accounts to maintain real-time position accuracy.
- Review Transaction Supplements (TS) and long-form confirmations from counterparties; proactively monitor and follow up on any outstanding or non-received documentation.
- Prepare manual confirmations for clients to ensure transparency and service excellence.
- Systematically update and maintain the Master Database, specifically tracking new inceptions, maturities, and the receipt/acknowledgment dates of option confirmations for Swaps, Listed Options, and OTC trades.
- Investigate and assist in the resolution of cash and option position reconciliation breaks, including the follow-up on necessary interest claims.
- Ensure all spread charges adhere to the monetary limits stipulated in the “Disclosure of Sales Related Information” and escalate any inconsistent charges.
- Ensure formal management approval is obtained for all special waivers and maintain the accuracy of the waiver tracking file.
- Liaise with dealers, counterparties, and the Front Office to identify and resolve trade discrepancies efficiently.
- Promptly inform Management of any error trades and assist in monitoring the formal receipt of incident reports.
- Act as a responsive point of contact for queries from the Front Office, Advisory Desks, and counterparties to ensure smooth functional operations.
Technical & Behavioral Competencies
- Contribute to the implementation of operational permanent control policies and procedures in day-to-day business activities.
- Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for system enhancements and support ad hoc projects as required by management.
- Ensure all procedures, internal control measures, and regulatory requirements are strictly always adhered to.
Specific Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in Derivatives Operations or a related middle-office role.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Management, or a related field.
- Prior experience in Equity Derivatives or OTC markets is highly preferred.
Technical Skills
- Foundational knowledge of Equity, Bond, and Derivative products (Options/Swaps).
- Proficiency in trade data entry, matching, and lifecycle management.
- Familiarity with reconciliation processes and trade confirmation workflows.
Behavioral Skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in data entry.
- Strong communication skills for effective liaison with internal and external stakeholders.
- A disciplined and proactive approach to following control procedures.
