Job Title: Assistant Vice President – Java Developer

Department: IT Production – Tech Office & Expertise 

About Business line/Function: 

Tech Office & Expertise is responsible for leading CIB ITO Production transformation projects. One of its key objectives is to provide a procedural framework for Production activities, in line with IT Group guidelines and standards, and ensure its efficient and proper application. It has a mandate to monitor the quality of our data and referential and expose & visualise Production data. It also provides and runs transversal tools for production teams.

Position Purpose: 

The person will be required to design, develop, test & support applications in the Tools Automation & Engineering Team. The team is responsible for developing IT for IT tools and applications. 

Responsibilities

Direct Responsibilities

·       Development & automation of ITP tools (entire development lifecycle including design, estimation, planning, development, unit test, release, and implementation support)

·       Support and improvements of our existing applications.

·       Propose technical solutions to new initiatives and problems. 

·       Documentation of systems and processes.

·       Management of the progress and delivery of tasks and projects.

·       Software development in a variety of languages and technologies.

 

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

Specific Qualifications:

Skills Referential (Required knowledge, skills and abilities)

Technical Skills (required):

o   Strong development skills in Java or C#. 

o   Strong understanding of design patterns and application architecture.

o   Strong SQL skills, preferably applied to MS SQL Server.

o   Experience in web development (HTML, CSS, Javascript) is a plus.

o   Strong user support skills.

o   Strong analytical skills.

Technical Skills (desirable)

o   Development skills in Python is a plus.

o   Knowledge on front-end technologies preferably Angular, HTML, CSS, Javascript.

o   Knowledge on Software methodology practice – Agile Methodology & SCRUM practices

 

Behavioral Skills: 

o   Independent & Self‑Driven - Must be independent, organized, self-motivated, responsible individual able to complete tasks with little or no outside support.

o   Cross‑Level Stakeholder Engagement - Ability to interface with users at all levels of the organization

o   Learning Agility – quickly master new technologies and frameworks. 

o   Proactivity – anticipate issues and suggest continuous improvement actions. 

o   Problem Solving – diagnose complex incidents and deliver robust fixes. 

o   Collaboration & Communication – work effectively with global team.

 

Education Level: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline (Master’s preferred).
