Job Title: Senior Business Analyst
Department: CEFS IT
About Business line/Function: CIB Client Engagement and Financial Security (CEFS IT) has focus on applications servicing Client Lifecycle management, Due Diligence /KYC , Customer Relation Management, Service Request Management, Referential and Data Quality, Transaction monitoring, Reconciliation, Data Platforms, and Anti-Money Laundering. Technologies being used include Java, .NET, Angular, Informatica, PowerBI, Fenergo, Siebel, Actimize, Camunda, Drools on private cloud infrastructure. Agile and DevSecOps practices are widely used. Landscape includes projects that are a mix of established and some under transition to new platforms.
Position Purpose
- Senior Business Analyst with 12+ years of experience, specialized in KYC, AML, and Client Referential within investment‑banking.
- Acts as the conduit between business objectives, compliance mandates, and IT delivery teams.
- Leads the analysis, design, and implementation of Client Lifecycle Management (CLM) and reference‑data solutions that enable efficient client onboarding, periodic reviews, and off‑boarding.
Responsibilities
Direct Responsibilities
- Requirement Elicitation & Documentation – Facilitate workshops, capture business needs, and produce high‑quality BRDs and SRSs for KYC/AML tools and client master‑data systems.
- Process Design & Optimization – Create clear “As‑Is” and “To‑Be” process maps (Visio/Signavio) for onboarding, KYC refresh, and off‑boarding, identifying automation and risk‑reduction opportunities.
- Data‑Management Leadership – Own large‑scale data‑quality and data‑lineage initiatives; define governance rules for client data across CRM, core banking, and downstream clearing platforms.
- Compliance Translation – Interpret regulatory guidance (e.g., FCA, FINRA, GDPR) and embed compliance controls into functional specifications and business rules.
- Stakeholder Collaboration – Partner with Operations, Compliance, IT, and Risk teams to align priorities, resolve ambiguities, and secure sign‑off on deliverables.
Contributing Responsibilities
- Testing & Validation – Draft UAT test plans, coordinate test execution, and certify that solutions meet functional and regulatory requirements.
- Change Management – Develop communication and training materials; guide end‑users through technology roll‑outs to ensure adoption and minimal disruption.
- Mentorship & Knowledge Sharing – Coach junior analysts on best‑practice elicitation techniques, documentation standards, and stakeholder‑management skills.
- Continuous Improvement – Capture lessons learned, propose enhancements to BA processes, and advocate for AI‑driven requirements analysis where applicable.
Technical & Behavioral Competencies
- Methodologies: Expert in Agile/Scrum (Jira, Confluence) and Waterfall hand‑off; adept at sprint planning, backlog grooming, and incremental delivery.
- Data Skills: Advanced SQL for data profiling, mapping, validation, and reporting; comfortable working with data‑quality tools and metadata repositories.
- Process Modeling: Proficient with BPM tools (Visio, Signavio, Lucidchart) to produce clear, measurable process documentation.
- Architecture Awareness: Solid understanding of component‑based and tiered architectures, APIs, and service‑oriented design as they relate to CLM systems.
- Toolset: MS Office suite, JIRA, Confluence, Visio, Tableau/PowerBI (for data visualization), and exposure to DevOps concepts (CI/CD pipelines, Git) for smoother hand‑off to development teams.
- Analytical Mindset: Strong problem‑solving aptitude, ability to dissect complex regulatory requirements into actionable functional specifications.
- Communication & Influence: Exceptional presentation skills, capable of influencing cross‑functional teams and gaining consensus across senior stakeholders.
Specific Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Finance, or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience).
- Professional certifications (e.g., CBAP, PMI‑PBA, ICA/Certified KYC Analyst) preferred but not mandatory.
