YOUR JOB IN A NUTSHELL

Global Markets Belgium is part of CIB Belgium and BNPParibas’ worldwide Global Markets division. 

We operate through 2 business lines – FICC (Fixed Income, Currencies & Commodities) and Equities, both departments delivering market-leading solutions to a diversified client base of corporates, public institutions and sovereigns.

 

AND IN DETAIL
 
Withing the FICC business line, we are looking for a Senior IRFX Corporate Sales to join the Brussels team.

As a Senior member of the team, you will cover Belgian based clients and work on vanilla FX, Interest rate (IR) derivatives and structured fixed income solutions. You will operate in fast-moving, macro-driven environment, collaborating daily with traders, researchers, structurers and other sales colleagues across Europe and globally to provide bespoke risk management solutions.  

 

Key responsibilities

  • Client ownership – Build and deepen relationships with treasury functions of existing and prospective Belgian corporates and public institutions. Primary contact will be a mix of virtual meetings and regular on‑site visits.
  • Market expertise – Monitor financial markets, stay ahead of innovative hedging strategies and maintain a deep understanding of the IRFX landscape. Share insights in internal research and structuring calls and stay informed on clients’ businesses through news, annual reports, etc.
  • Proactive advisory – Deliver timely quotes and strategic advice on IRFX products, highlighting risks and tailoring presentations to each client’s hedging objectives and budget.  
  • Deal execution and monitoring – Ensure swift, accurate trade execution and high‑quality service, reinforcing the client‑bank relationship.
  • Platform performance monitoring – Review client activity on electronic trading platforms, identify gaps and trigger corrective actions when needed.
  • Cross-geography collaboration – Work from the Brussels trading floor while partnering with Global Markets teams worldwide (trading, research, structuring, risk, compliance, cash‑management, etc.) and with BNPPFortis relationship managers.
  • Team spirit & backup – Act as a backup for the IRFX Corporate Sales desk, fostering clear communication across Global Markets and other internal stakeholders.
  • CRM maintenance – Keeping client information uptodate in the CRM system on an ongoing basis.
  • Compliance & conduct – Conduct all activities in line with Global Markets policies, MiFIDII and BNPParibas conduct standards, treating clients fairly and transparently, always mindful of the bank’s risk exposure.

 

YOUR TALENTS AND COMPETENCES

  • Experience - 5-10 years of relevant experience in financial markets, preferably in a corporate sales or treasury services environment.
  • Market knowledge - Strong interest in macro‑economics, political developments and deep understanding of IRFX products (derivatives knowledge a plus).
  • Commercial drive - “Hunter” mindset – continuously propose innovative solutions that enhance client hedging and profitability.
  • Client-facing skills – Excellent relationship management, with solid knowledge of banking products (credit, investment, payments, etc.)
  • Autonomy & organization - Ability to prioritize, manage workload independently and stay calm under pressure.
  • Analytical ability - Strong quantitative aptitude and problem‑solving skills.
  • Languages - Fluency in Dutch, French and English.
  • Digital proficiency - Comfortable with advanced IT tools; being a “digital native” is a distinct advantage.
  • Education - University degree, preferably in Finance, Economics or Engineering.
  • Team spirit - Collaborative, motivated and upbeat personality, eager to contribute to team objectives.
