Role
Greenval Insurance DAC provides motor insurance solutions tailored to the fleet operations of its sister company, Arval Group, a global leader in full-service multi-brand vehicle leasing.

Established in 2007 and wholly owned by Arval, part of the BNP Paribas Group, Greenval delivers insurance and reinsurance services across 21 European countries. Regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland, the company is authorised to provide insurance services throughout the European Union on an FOS basis.

Are you looking to work with a growing international insurer, fast paced organisation? If so, then this could be the role opportunity for you. We are looking for an experienced senior compliance professional to work closely with the Head of Compliance to ensure that the Company continues to meet its regulatory obligations, while supporting the delivery of strategic initiatives.  You will provide expert advice across a range of compliance and regulatory matters, contribute to governance and oversight activities and help to foster a strong compliance culture throughout the business. 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for the ongoing development and enhancement of the Compliance Framework, including compliance policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the Identifying, measuring, monitoring, managing and reporting on compliance risk including assisting the preparation of a compliance monitoring plan. 
  • Ensure the execution of the compliance monitoring plan, thematic reviews and control testing.
  • Be responsible for providing day-to-day compliance and regulatory advice to the business functions, including participation in key governance forums representing compliance. 
  • Be responsible for ensuring that regulatory developments are monitored and assess the impact of regulatory changes on the business.
  • Reporting on compliance topics and issues including breaches/risk events and any mitigation activities. 
  • Be accountable for the preparation of reports for senior management, committees and the Board, including being a key stakeholder in the Compliance Committee.
  • Assist the business and regulatory projects and compliance-related change programmes. 
  • Assist with regulatory thematic reviews by the regulator and other interactions with regulatory authorities; 
  • Assist with activities to ensure compliance with Group requirements.
  • Assist in the promotion of compliance culture in the Company. 

 

Qualifications & Experience required for this role

The successful candidate should meet the following:

  • A seasoned and appropriately qualified Compliance professional with a minimum 8 years’ experience in in non-life insurance, preferable with freedom of service experience.
  • Experience in international motoring insurance is preferrable.
  • Experience in holding a PCF role is preferrable.
  • Experience in working in large international group with engagement on group related compliance topics is essential. 
  • Demonstratable strong understanding of regulatory principles and practices and compliance framework is the best practice. 
  • Ability to keep up to date with regulatory changes and understanding and interpreting regulatory requirements. 
  • Strong understanding of/ability to identify regulatory risks as part of both BAU and project work
  • Excellent interpersonal/negotiating/communication skills (verbal and written) and proven experience collaborating with colleagues at all levels in a business and across different jurisdictions; 
  • Excellent work ethic with planning and organisation skills;
  • Pragmatic approach with a focus on stakeholder outcomes;
  • Team player but with the ability to also work autonomously;
  • Self-starter, flexible with an enthusiastic approach.

Central Bank of Ireland Controlled Function Requirements

This role is a controlled function Role 

 

At all such times as, the Company is regulated by the Central Bank, this role is subject to the Central Bank of Ireland (CBI) Individual Accountability Framework (IAF), as well as Fitness and Probity Standards (Standards). The Standards provide that persons who are subject to the Standards must be competent and capable, act honestly, ethically and with integrity, and be financially sound. 

 

As Controlled function role holder, it is a condition to comply with all relevant regulatory requirements, including any rules or requirements imposed by the Central Bank in relation to the conduct of persons in certain positions in regulated firms (Conduct Rules). The Conduct Rules include, without limitation, the following introduced under the Central Bank Reform Act 2010 (2010 Act):

 

  • the Fitness and Probity Standards 2014 issued by the Central Bank under section 50 of the 2010 Act (F&P Standards); 
  • the Common Conduct Standards, under Section 53E of the 2010 Act (Common Conduct Standards); and 
  • the Additional Conduct Standards, under Section 53F of the 2010 Act (applicable to individuals performing a PCF, or CF1 role as designated by the Central Bank Reform Act 2010 (Section 20 and 22) Regulations 2011 as amended) (Additional Conduct Standards). 

 

The Company is required, under Section 21 of the 2010 Act, to undertake an assessment of fitness and probity for the role under the F&P Standards at the time of hiring and at least annually thereafter, or in any other situations where the Company reasonably believes it necessary to do so.
