Team Overview
RISK Systems team is part of RISK department, and Its mission consists in providing the Bank with comprehensive IT systems to calculate market and counterparty risk capital figures using advanced methods and to support the needs of users for risk analysis, risk reporting and the credit process.
The successful candidate will join the Counterparty Analysis and Reporting team as part of the RISK Systems department, taking responsibility for developing and maintaining the tools used to monitor Counterparty Risk. This Lisbon‑based position operates within an Agile squad with a strong international footprint.
In this context, we are looking for a Java developer for the Counterparty Risk activities team in RISK Systems Lisbon.
About the Job
We are looking for a Java Developer responsible for construction of application components (such as RESTful services) and scripting to manage the interchange of data between external services and the system. Your primary focus will be the development of all server-side logic, ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end. Thus, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and product quality is essential.
You will also be responsible for integrating the front-end elements built by your co-workers into the application; therefore, a basic understanding of front-end technologies is necessary as well.
Your Main Activities Are
- The successful candidate will be expected to fulfil the role of a Java Developer as follows:
- Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Java code
- Integration of user-facing elements developed by front-end developers with server side logic
- Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the applications
- Help maintain code quality, organization, and automation
Profile and Skills to Success:
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
- 3 years of experience with Java
- Degree in Computer Science, Finance or related field.
Skills Required:
- Proficient in Java with a good knowledge of its ecosystem (Spring Framework, JPA/Hibernate)
- Familiar with Java application design and architectural pattern
- Solid understanding of object-oriented programming and functional programming paradigms
- Understanding fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
- Knowledge of multithreaded design and concurrency patterns in Java
- Strong experience delivering MVC, JDBC, and RESTful components
- Experience with both external and embedded databases
- Unit test and debugging skills
- Basic understanding of front-end technologies, such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3
Languages:
- English mandatory
